As Christians, we should stand for life.

Crafty Author Rachel Held Evans Demands Pro-Lifers Vote Hillary

I do not know Rachel Held Evans, a 35-year-old Episcopalian, “progressive” and “polarizing” columnist who lives not far from me in our Volunteer State of Tennessee. I do know she influences Millennials through blogs, conferences and her book A Year of Biblical Womanhood.

Because of her recent column advocating pro-life people back Hillary Clinton for President, I eagerly volunteer to counter her crafty presentation misleading the unsuspecting. She also argues for LGBTQ involvement in church leadership and other controversial issues, but we’ll leave those for another time.

Andrew Walker, Director of Policy Studies for the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission stated, “What she offers (searching Millennials) as an answer is unbiblical and theologically dangerous.”

What she offers us pro-life stalwarts is an appeal to vote for a staunch, unapologetic, rabid, pro-abortionist Hillary Clinton. It strains credulity and demands refutation.

My 43 Years in the Pro-Life Movement

Two biblical passages are at the core of my sanctity of human life conviction:

“You brought my inner parts into being; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for You made me with fear and wonder; marvelous are Your works, and You know me completely” (Ps.139:13-14).

“Open your mouth for the speechless in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy” (Prov. 31:8-9).

I believe it is impossible to be an authentic Christian and not be pro-life!

Christians should never be silent in defending the life and dignity of every person created by God: the pre-born, elderly, sick, disabled, mentally challenged and helpless.

I lived in Washington, D.C., when Mother Theresa spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast, with the Clintons (supporters of unfettered abortion) listening at her side, when she declared, “There is no such thing as an unwanted child! Bring any such child to me. I will find them a home! We cannot fight credibly against other social and moral ills, including poverty and violence, while we tolerate mass killings by abortion.”

As you could imagine, that didn’t go over too well with Bill and Hillary, judging by the surprised expressions on both their faces!

For decades I’ve served alongside some of the most dedicated and humble servants of God in defending the sanctity of human life.

I’ve distributed handouts to all our Congressional leaders; edited a national magazine with regular articles celebrating a culture of life; participated in dozens of conferences and demonstrations; walked as a family in snow, rain and freezing temperatures in the annual D.C. “March for Life” and hosted a public tribute to the event’s founder, Nelly Gray; I was arrested with hundreds at Atlanta’s “Operation Rescue”; adopted an orphan and supported others such as my son who has adopted two; counseled women not to dismember their unborn children but deliver them to waiting parents; sponsored events with Dr. Alveda King and others to raise awareness; highlighted abortion in the “Bullseye Challenge” 30 day video/book initiative educating people across America; and distributed freely the outstanding book Killer Angel by my friend Dr. George Grant that exposes Planned Parenthood’s eugenics founder, Margaret Sanger.

Why do I cite my lifelong involvement?

My purpose is not to impress anybody but to inspire people everywhere to do their part in protecting human life. We must also expose fallacious and deceptive reasoning even indirectly promoting abortion as Mrs. Evans does in her current blog.

How Do You Kill Millions?

Over 58 million unborn babies have been killed through abortion in America. This is an incomprehensible, national tragedy inviting the judgment of God on our nation.

Pregnant mommies have believed a lie that there is such a thing as a life not worthy to be lived.

In his book, How Do You Kill 11 Million People?, Andy Andrews quoted Adolf Hitler, “How fortunate for leaders that men do not think. Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it. The great masses of people will more easily fall victim to a big lie than a small one.”

Andy went on to say, “The danger to America is not a single politician with ill intent. Or even a group of them. The most dangerous thing any nation faces is a citizenry capable of trusting a liar to lead them.”

Both Hillary Clinton and Rachel Evans craftily shade the truth to convince people to accommodate abortion. The latter opines that under Obama (whom she voted for both times) and his policies, abortion has declined, so supporting Hillary will continue the trend.

The truth is that the decline in abortion is actually the result of the pro-life position gaining ascendancy among more and more people, especially the young; greater availability of RU486 and other home abortion options; plus, individuals witnessing the dark side of abortion through the Planned Parenthood video expose’ and the Gosnell “House of Horrors” in Philadelphia.

Mrs. Evans also opines that alleviating poverty is the real priority and creating a culture like Mrs. Clinton espouses is where our support should go.

Here’s the deal: It’s not an either-or proposition! As “salt” and “light” Christians, we should work to save the lives of unborn babies. At the same time, we should do what Christians have always done in serving the poor and homeless; facilitate adoptions; build hospitals, crisis pregnancy centers and orphanages; provide clothing and food centers; and so on.

So what exactly is the enlightened Rachel Evans telling us to do?

•  “Sometimes I think it’s easier for us to talk about ‘saving millions of babies’ than it is to work at creating a culture that can sustainably welcome those babies as they grow into children and adults.”

•  “Clinton has better policy proposals to help improve the lives of women, children …”

•  “Voting pro-choice is not the same as voting for abortion.”

•  “Trump is a racist demagogue!”

•  “You should vote for Hillary Clinton!”

10 Reasons Why Pro-Life Christians Shouldn’t Support Hillary

1. She promotes the unrestricted dismemberment of children on demand until the moment of birth.

2. She endorses taxpayer funding for abortions.

3. She admitted on Meet the Press that an unborn baby is a “person” and “child” yet believes “an unborn person doesn’t have any constitutional rights.”

4. While her opponent has committed to appoint only pro-life Supreme Court Justices, Hillary will appoint only pro-choice individuals, possibly two or three, which would shape America for decades.

5. She is enthusiastically and financially supported by abortion providers like Planned Parenthood (1/3 million abortions yearly) and NARAL (National Abortion Rights Action League).

6. Her Democratic Platform calls for overturning the 1976 Hyde Amendment—the law forbidding any taxpayer money for abortion in America and abroad.

7. Her policies force even non-profits to pay for insurance plans with abortion and contraceptives. Remember the Little Sisters of the Poor?

8. Hillary’s extreme, unfettered abortion vision continues to force the few remaining pro-life Democrats out of the Party.

9. Her Party’s convention did not grant any place for pro-life Democrats to speak while giving the platform to radical abortion providers and promoters.

10. Her greatest supporters, African-Americans, are undergoing genocide, with over 17 million black babies exterminated since 1973, reducing the black population by over 25 percent! It’s been said, “The most dangerous place for an African-American today is in the womb.”

Baltimore Ravens NFL player, Ben Watson, who has played in two AFC championship games and one Super Bowl, said recently that Planned Parenthood was started to “exterminate blacks … and it’s working … We are killing our children and we are buying the lie that it’s our personal decision to make.”

Rachel Held Evans may be an attractive “progressive” communicator in this generation but we must ensure that multitudes are not fooled by her craftiness. Post this and pass it along to others. And continue marching with the increasing numbers speaking up for those who can’t speak for themselves.

On a personal note, my wife and I are getting ready to go visit our daughter-in-law who’s almost ready to deliver another beautiful baby girl who’s been forming in the womb for almost nine months. No one will ever convince us that a baby “in mommy’s tummy” is anything less than a God-given gift and a real person who deserves the right to life.
