Are ‘Expert’ COVID-19 Predictions Contrived From Arrogance and Ignorance?

Daniel Payne reported in Just The News, “Dr. Anthony Fauci testified before the Senate this week that the United States could soon see as many as 100,000 new coronavirus cases per day, feeding alarmist narratives that have spread rapidly through the media.”

Senator Rand Paul, MD, of Kentucky, asserted during the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee hearing of June 30, 2020, that “It is a fatal conceit to believe any one person or small group of people has the knowledge necessary to direct an economy or dictate public health behavior. We shouldn’t presume that a group of experts somehow knows what’s best for everyone. … It’s important to realize that if society meekly submits to an expert and that expert is wrong, a great deal of harm may occur when we allow one man’s policy or one group of small men and women to be foisted on an entire nation.”

Whereas Dr. Fauci boldly claims “to give advice according to the best scientific evidence,” neither “best” nor “scientific” accounts for anything when the same Dr. Fauci admits that “sometimes you have to make extrapolations because you’re in a position where you need to at least give some sort of recommendation.”

Putting one’s opinions out without data, making extrapolations, and giving some sort of recommendation [i.e. “just to say something”], are all in the category of arrogance and ignorance masquerading as expertise.

As Dr. John Ioannidis, professor of medicine and professor of epidemiology and population health, already warned on March 17, 2020, the result is that such “evidence fiasco creates tremendous uncertainty about the risk of dying from COVID-19. Reported case fatality rates, like the official 3.4% rate from the World Health Organization, cause horror—and are meaningless.”

The coronavirus pandemic has definitely proven valuable to those opposing President Trump’s reelection this fall. In March, we suggested that “up to now President Trump’s most compelling reason for reelection was a bustling economy, but that advantage, like the queen being captured and removed from the board in a chess match, has been put in check.”

Highly proficient in creating tremendous uncertainty and disproportionate panic, Dr. Fauci’s voice of doom is proving to be a very useful tool in the hands of Democrat operatives seeking to defeat a sitting president.

Not only is President Trump’s reelection no longer a given, I believe it is becoming clear that Dr. Fauci seems to love the status and stance that the position of being in charge of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases [NIAID] brings him.

To the president and his advisers, Dr. Fauci’s testimony last week signaled that Dr. Fauci is willing to be played as a puppet this fall by the same forces that created various earlier falsehoods, such as: 1) a president not winning the popular vote has no constitutional right to govern, 2) Russian collusion, 3) impeachment, 4) Ukraine, 5) Covid-19.

Add to that what’s all but falsehoods: rioting, looting and burning of America’s cities.

We don’t have to be experts on political theater to understand that Dr. Fauci’s testimony of “throwing down the gauntlet” was just that. Is he being used in the Democratic scheme to keep the economy locked down until Nov. 3?

Speaker Pelosi has made it plain that she “has no plan to bring the lower chamber of Congress back to work in the nation’s capital until 2021.”

In Dr. Fauci’s congressional testimony, you may have detected that he failed to mention the 90% decline in coronavirus death rates since March, thereby falsely implying that “as many as 100,000 new coronavirus cases per day” will massively increase the volume of fatalities and the size of the death toll.

It would appear that Dr. Fauci wants the focus to lie on the possible increase in cases so as to extend this season of unwarranted panic, and thus keep his place in the radio and television news cycle.

A free and independent press of yesteryear would have studied the political angle of Dr. Fauci and sought to investigate if “the most trusted man in America,” as CNN calls him, has a conflict of interest between himself, his wife Dr. Christine Grady, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Big Pharma. We’re talking billions and billions of dollars here.

It looks like President Trump partnering with Dr. Fauci has created a monstrosity of Frankenstein proportions.

What has happened to a free and independent press over the last 50 years will provide sufficient data for a quantitative research study in deceit and political machination. It would show that America’s press and media prime and pride has become as radically militant and biased as were Pravda and Izvestiya in whitewashing the “truth” and “news” for the Soviet Union Politburo during the Cold War.

Dr. Fauci’s testimony last week was all about political posturing, a staged role played in a political theater. It’s all in the masquerade, the pretentious show, disguising the real intentions of the playwrights and costume designers behind the curtains for the fall election.

That Dr. Fauci has been wrong every time on every issue—alone—would eliminate his standing by any standard of measurement in the real world. But what counts for more in the pretense world of political theater is posing and dressing up in a convincing manner. For the upcoming presidential election, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Former Speaker Newt Gingrich suggests that this is the most important election since 1860.

A final word on biblical application, using Matthew 16:18, Joshua 1:3 and Genesis 3:14: “If we will confine our viewpoint solely unto the sovereign grace of God in connection with our salvation, and deliberately close our eyes to all that Scripture teaches upon the discharge of our responsibility in relation thereto, then it would indeed be strange if we apprehended how that on the one hand Canaan was a free gift unto Israel, which they entered by grace alone; and on the other, that they had to fight for every inch of it!” (A.W. Pink, Gleanings in Joshua).

With the current destruction of American cities and general anarchy covered up by so-called journalists, press and media mountebanks, God is attempting to teach today’s evangelical and pro-life Christians in America a profound and valuable lesson. That lesson is that although Joshua and the children of Israel won the land and defeated the standing armies of the Canaanites, “much of its actual territory was still in the hands of its original inhabitants, who remained to be dispossessed. It is important to distinguish between the work that had been done by Joshua and that which remained for Israel to do” (Pink).

The moral for evangelical and pro-life Catholic Christians comes this fall. Neither Zoom calls, tweets, nor sermonizing will vanquish the political and social disorder taking place in America’s streets.

Pastors and churchgoers must reestablish prayer in American homes and culture. As Thomas Manton expressed it: “Among the multitude of suitors and expectants, the event is as God casts it, who is the great judge and umpire in human affairs. And humble prayer doth more than ambitious affectation. Notwithstanding all our blowing, the fire will not burn without the Lord” (The Complete Works of Thomas Manton, D.D., Vol. XV; 1873).

Secondly, register and get God’s flock to vote. A historic turnout of evangelical and pro-life Catholic Christians this fall is exactly what the opposition fears.

According to Shakespeare, “There is a tide in the affairs of men, which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune” (Julius Caesar).

This is our flood. Gideons and Rahabs are beginning to stand. {eoa}
