One New Man Sets Historic Vision of Reconnecting Jews and Gentiles
As most of us in the church sense we are coming down to the end time before Messiah Yeshua/Jesus returns to us, the reconnection between Jew and Gentile believers in the one new man becomes an essential element of the unfolding of the mystery between Israel and the church (Rom. 11:25-32).
Recently, apostles Che Ahn of HIM Ministries and Dan Juster, Eitan Shishkoff of Tikkun International ministries and Grant Berry of Reconnecting Ministries met in Nazareth, Israel, to sign a historic document. The Reconnection Commission Document shown above has been written for the following reasons:
- To help bring healing into the divides in His family between Jew and Gentile in order to reunite us into His Spirit as one family.
- To help bring us into our destinies and future roles for the kingdom of God.
- To expose and break off any holds the enemy still has in this area on both sides of the family.
- To release the additional power on us as we take up His burden for the awakening of His firstborn.
- To help bring the church into its greatest-ever intercessory role to help release spiritual life back to Israel and the last great Harvest of the Nations.
Here is what the principle leaders had to say about the meeting and the document:
“When we first put this meeting together, it was originally planned to be in Jerusalem, but there was no mistake here. This meeting was always supposed to be in Nazareth in Galilee, where Yeshua started His ministry, as it marks a new beginning in His family between Jew and Gentile.
“As we were about to sign the document the presence and anointing of G-d was so strong upon us that I could hardly contain myself, as His tears of love, of joy and of healing welled up in my soul. And I immediately had a sense and an impression that HE had been waiting for this moment a lot longer than I had—Oh the love and patience of G-d!
“There is much healing that is needed between us, for us to come into a greater unity and understanding of the fullness of the one new man now that Jewish souls are awakening to Messiah; truly a sign of the unfolding mystery that the apostle Paul wrote to us in the book of Romans. All the more reason now for us to give credence to a spiritual reconnection that must take place in order for both of us, Jew and Gentile alike, to come into our end time roles to give glory to God” (see Ezek. 36:22-28). —Grant Berry, president and founder of Reconnecting Ministries.
“Standing in a facsimile of a first-century synagogue in Yeshua’s home town of Nazareth, one could only feel humbled. We took one simple step. It was to cut covenant between the indigenous Messianic Jewish network of Tikkun congregations and the vast network of churches served by our brother Che Ahn. This covenant is not based on convenience, nor even theological conviction alone. It is based on friendship. We’ve known Che for decades. There is a fitting reunion that expresses the end-time reuniting of Jewish and Gentile disciples of Yeshua. As we honor one another, surely His coming will be hastened.” —Apostle Eitan Shishkoff, Tikkun International Ministries
“First of all, it was good to be with old friends, and I have known Dan Juster for over 30 years going back to when I used to live in Maryland. Dan and I were also on the board of the International Coalition of Apostles (ICA), founded by my apostle Peter Wagner.
“So when Grant Berry, a member of Harvest International Ministry (HIM), wanted us two apostles to represent the Gentile and Jewish apostolic movement through HIM and Tikkun, I was so honored. I believe that true unity takes place when apostles come together in covenant commitment.
“As we made that covenant in Nazareth, I felt that something historic happened. A shift took place in the body of Christ that I believe will bear fruit for years to come. I also felt it was significant that we made the commitment in Israel, specifically in the Arab-Christian town of Nazareth, representing both Jews and Gentiles. My hope is that this unity will lead to a new move of the Holy Spirit that will bring an awakening to both Jews and Gentiles in the Middle East so that we can hasten the coming of the Lord!” —Apostle Ché Ahn, president and founder of Harvest International Ministry and HRock Church
“When we will understand the church as rooted in Israel, and tied to Israel’s ultimate destiny, the church will attain a true and empowered identity.” —Apostle Dr. Daniel Juster, Tikkun International Ministries
There is absolutely nothing for Gentile believers to lose by reconnecting spiritually with Israel, for we are all equal now through Messiah/Christ (Eph. 2:14-22), but we do need to develop a broader view of exactly what the One New Man encompasses. In fact there is everything to gain and greater power for His church, especially for the end-time harvest, but in order for Israel to be awakened and for this unity to take place, the church is in need of a realignment to its Jewish roots, especially for Israel’s salvation—they who need to recognize that Christianity is part of them and not a distinct and separate religion.
Plus, lest we not forget, as we come down to the end with the Lord’s return to establish David’s throne upon the earth, is it not fully Jewish in its characteristic and is His name not the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, coming back to a Jewish city and reigning from the land of Israel? Let us in the church remember our humble beginnings and not forget that the nations of believers are grafted into Israel as its commonwealth.
