The Only Way to Stop the Devil From Stealing, Killing and Destroying in Your Life
When was the last time you felt overwhelmed? For many of us, it could be as recent as this morning. But as children of God, we don’t have to let our feelings or circumstances control us.
Why? Because the only source of refuge is God. He gave His Only Son to free us. When we feel overwhelmed by the challenges of salvation, we must always remember Jesus paid the price for it all. There is nothing we have gone through that God has no knowledge of. He is our peace. Father promised He will give us peace that passes all understanding (Phil. 4:7).
Although this peace may seem hard to get to at times, it is still available to us during our roughest storms. As soon as a storm approaches, it is easy for our minds to race. These storms often catch us off-guard, and our instinct is to figure out how to fix it, how to defend ourselves from it or how to run away completely. All God wants us to do is stand still and see His salvation (2 Chron. 20:17).
Here’s the thing: If we are broken at the beginning of our journey, and we are not keeping our eyes on God, the enemy’s job is to take what is broken and scatter the broken pieces even further apart. The devil’s job is to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10). Father wants us healed and whole. God is not expecting us to be perfect soldiers. He is looking for the soldiers that will say yes and obey His will. We are to believe and trust in becoming whole from brokenness as we remain in Him during our journey.
This is where being a soldier becomes difficult and we must completely rely on our faith and trust in God. When I surrendered to Him, I realized I had signed up for a war. As soon as I said yes to God, the devil made himself known to me. It was obvious I had an enemy.
The Bible says the devil must get permission from God to do anything to begin with. This was made known to us in the book of Job (Job 1:7). The enemy roams seeking whom he can devour (1 Pet. 5:8). I know for a fact Father will never give us more than we can handle (1 Cor. 10:13). The beginning of warfare lies in our minds, which are the enemy’s playground. The devil will come into our thoughts and plant a seed of lies.
So many of us fight the lies of the enemy every day, often throughout the day. This is a thorn for some. Some may struggle with health issues, financial issues or family issues as they are working out their salvation, none of which is worse than another. Yet Jesus is the one who connects us all.
Brokenness is an issue as well as all the others, something we can have dominion over, and the devil knows this. Once the revelation hits us, this is when the enemy comes in for the kill. The devil wants to destroy God’s soldiers. For those of you whom suffer from emotional and mental brokenness, abandonment, rejection or loneliness, God is ready to heal you right now. This is all for your testimony. Nothing is wasted. God will use it all for good (Rom. 8:28).
You were created to overcome. You were created to have dominion. You were created for purpose, on purpose. Our peace is connected with Gods divinely willed purpose for our lives. Once we line up with it, there will be no more broken pieces.
God is whole. His plan for our lives is whole. When we come into agreement with that, we will be whole. God bless you! {eoa}
