Perversion Rising as ‘Cosmo’ Promotes Tranny Porn Awards

It’s no surprise that Cosmopolitan magazine ranked 10th on Morality in Media’s annual Dirty Dozen list. The metro rag uses its platform to push the pro-abortion agenda and is generally filled with R-rated smut.

(By the way, that’s why model and actress Nicole Weider went after the racy magazine in a Change.org campaign, demanding the rubbish be sold in a nontransparent wrapper to adults only. In fact, the Christian Weider said Cosmo has the devil written all over it. I wholeheartedly agree.)

Armed with that history, it may not surprise you to learn that the soft-porn publication is now touting a less-offensive name for its annual “Tranny Awards” for pornography.

Frank Kabola penned the article informing sex-charged readers of the change. “Originally a small, online-only awards show designed to celebrate transgender erotica,” he writes, “it has since grown into a full awards show extravaganza, honoring models and performers in 21 categories and attracting attention from outside of the trans community. Not wanting to spread the use of what many consider a derogatory term for transgender people, creator Steven Grooby decided it was time to change the name.”

And—get this—they are changing the name to TEA, which stands for Transgender Erotica Awards and essentially mocks the conservative political tea party.

“We started the show as an online event for a bit fun and never anticipated the interest and growth of the show to become the main annual event for trans women and men in the adult industry,” says Grooby. “When we named the show the ‘Tranny Awards’ in 2007 the climate was different and the usage of the word ‘tranny’ was appropriate as a catchy title in an online porn event. While I personally believe, within the context of porn, that ‘tranny’ has its place as a descriptor in the same way many words have their place only in porn, I do understand why some people have become frustrated with its usage here.

“As we aim to be inclusive of all areas of transgender erotica and are looking to broaden the appeal of the show to mainstream media, we believed it was time to re-brand the event to the Transgender Erotica Awards—or the TEA’s. The acronym works especially well since ‘T’ is used within the community and we’re going to have some fun with the promotions (the after party, for example, will be ‘The TEA Party’).  I’d like to thank the extended trans adult community for their input and feedback over the last few months. We will be producing a show that the whole transgender adult community can be proud of.”

This year’s event, hosted last month at the Beyond the Stars Palace in Glendale, Calif., also saw a 25 percent jump in attendance from last year, with nearly a 300 percent increase in livestream viewership. Now, you tell me perversion isn’t rising at a rapid clip in the land. What’s a God-fearing Christian to do in the face of such rampant sexual immorality—immorality that even goes so far as to mock conservatives with its very name? We need to pray, and we need to take action.

I believe the spirit of perversion will rush in like floodwaters through a broken dam. In fact, the Holy Spirit gave me a prophetic word earlier this week before I even saw this Cosmo spot, and I’ll be sharing more about that after I’ve prayed it through. It’s important to remember that we’re not wrestling flesh and blood. Principalities, powers and other demonic forces are at play in this perversion.

We need to separate the personalities from the principalities. In other words, we need to pray that these so-called trannys and those enthralled by this perversion will come to Jesus. But we also need to stand and withstand, sound the alarm, and protect the next generation from the seeds that magazines like Cosmo are planting in young minds. God have mercy.
