What Christians Must Remember in the Darkest Seasons of Their Lives
Like many of you, I have been a follower of Christ for several years. But even with all the teaching, all the worship I pour out, I still find that in some of the most difficult times, it can become hard to stand on my faith. In these turbulent times, the same question plagues our minds and hearts:
Why isn’t God changing my situation for the better?
The “why”s of our lives come from the fact that we have limited understanding of God’s infinite knowledge. Romans 8:28 (MEV) does not say that all bad things we encounter will change for the better and we’ll see victory in the turbulent area of our lives. It says, “We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
All things (good or bad) will work towards God’s purpose on this earth. We will, as Christ-followers, go through unfavorable seasons in our lives. But in these seasons, our faith will be strengthened because it’s tested. And because we are tested and our faith strengthened, God begins to reveal another side of Himself to us. He reveals to our heart, that life is less about the stuff (receiving from God) and more about sacrifice and serving Him for a greater agenda that goes far beyond our personal desires. It’s about reaching, loving and serving others.
