What Really Happened to America on Nov. 8

The American people rose up and rejected a political and cultural elite that would impose their values and views on all Americans by governmental force. Imagine the audacity of a single individual (President Obama) seeking to impose a transgender bathroom policy on every school in America including those in faraway small communities in Montana, Wyoming, Texas and so on. Such an act is not only unconstitutional, but belies a elitist mindset that considers itself superior to the “little” people out there who are not capable of thinking for themselves and making their own decisions.

The U.S. Constitution, which begins with the words “We the people,” curtails the powers of the presidency and federal government. Matters such as school bathroom policies are left to the discretion of local communities and governments.

The Founders considered human nature to be flawed by sin and not to be trusted with power. They, therefore, divided the powers of government, putting checks and balances in place, designed to keep any one person or group of persons from obtaining too much power. The power was to to remain with “We the people.”

This race was not about racism or sexism as those on the Left are claiming. Concerning racism, Trump could never have won without almost 30 percent of the Hispanic vote. Neither could he have won without the vocal support of African-Americans such as Dr. Ben Carson, Sheriff David Clarke, Pastor Darrell Scott and others who worked hard for him, stumping for him and speaking at his rallies.

Concerning sexism, if Hillary Clinton had the character and values of a Condoleeza Rice, she would be the president today. It was her character, not her gender, that kept her out of the White House.

This election was “We the people” taking back the power and freedom that was given to them by America’s Founders. It was a vote for, in the words of the Pledge of Allegiance, “liberty and justice for all.” {eoa}
