Democrats More Likely to Vote for Muslim Than Evangelical Christian

According to a Gallup poll, Democratic voters say they are more likely to vote for a Muslim candidate for president than for an evangelical Christian.
Two-thirds (66 percent) of Democrats said they would vote for an evangelical Christian for president—18 points behind Republicans (84 percent).
But 73 percent of Democrats said they would vote for a Muslim. Less than half—45 percent—of Republicans would do so.
The biggest gap was whether a voter would support an avowed socialist as leader of the free world. A solid majority (59 percent) of Democrats said they would vote for someone who embraces Marxist economic theory, while only 26 percent of Republicans would—a 33 point gap.
