Donald Trump Adds Another Conservative Voice to His Team
As the old saying goes, “personnel is policy,” and in the case of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, the personnel have been anything but liberal.
His latest hire continues the trend of bringing dyed-in-the-wool conservatives into his campaign’s inner circle. Jessica Ditto, formerly the communications director for Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin, worked on his 2015 gubernatorial campaign and was instrumental in a 9-point win that made Bevin the third Kentucky Republican governor since World War II.
Ditto will work alongside Hope Hicks and Jason Miller as the Trump campaign’s primary on-the-record spokespeople. She will also work with the communications department on press coordination and outreach.
“We’re very pleased to welcome Jessica to the team as we enter the final 50 days of this election,” Miller said. “As Mr. Trump’s message continues to resonate and more polls show him in first place, Jessica will help ensure Mr. Trump’s ‘America First’ message is communicated to the American people in an effective manner.”
Ditto said she was “excited” to join the Trump campaign.
“Mr. Trump is a very successful businessman who offers common-sense reforms that take power away from Washington’s rigged system insiders and returns it to the people,” she said. “Mr. Trump is focused on solving the problems facing everyday Americans and is our country’s only choice to stop four more years of a failed liberal agenda”
