Former Haitian Senate President: ‘As My People Were Dying, Hillary Was Abusing Her Position’
ABC News released an explosive report Tuesday that digs further into the allegations of corruption between the Clinton Foundation, the U.S. State Department and the contractors hired to provide assistance following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
The report is based on new emails released by WikiLeaks that indicate top Clinton Foundation officials, during the hours after the earthquake, “repeatedly gave special attention to those identified by the abbreviations ‘FOB’ (friends of Bill Clinton) or ‘WJC VIPs’ (William Jefferson Clinton VIPs).” Another email described the massive humanitarian crisis as a “gold mine” for contractors and aid groups.
“The new emails have surfaced as the Clinton Foundation has once again mobilized a response to the latest humanitarian crisis in Haiti—the death and destruction following Hurricane Matthew,” ABC News Chief Investigative Correspondent Brian Ross reported. “That effort is part of an ongoing commitment by the Clintons to help the Haitian people dating back nearly a decade. However noble the motives of the officials working to get supplies into Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, numerous messages show a senior aide to then–Secretary of State Hillary Clinton coordinating with a Clinton Foundation official to identify FOBs.”
The ABC investigation also uncovered documents that suggest the State Department prioritized contractors with “close ties” to the Clintons. Now, Bernard Sansaricq, the former President of Haitian Senate who is now a U.S. citizen and a supporter of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, has issued a statement ripping the Clintons.
“Shame on Hillary Clinton and her foundation for even thinking about profiting off of the humanitarian crisis in my country,” he said. “As my people were dying, Hillary was abusing her position as secretary of state and prioritizing access to what the State Department viewed as a ‘gold rush’ for her wealthy donors in exchange for exorbitant speaking fees and large donations to the Clinton Foundation.
“Hillary Clinton is so deep in the pockets of special interest groups and wealthy donors that she has admitted she’s ‘out of touch’ with what the American people need, and this latest revelation again calls into question whether or not she was born with a working moral compass.”
