Donald Trump Stepping Up His Outreach to Minority and Evangelical Voters

Share:

Without question, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is making the most serious overtures to minority voters by a GOP presidential candidate in years.

On Saturday, he will continue his outreach to those voters, as well as to evangelical voters, when he appears on the Impact Network. Beginning at 11 a.m. EDT, Trump will be interviewed by the network’s president and CEO, Bishop Wayne T. Jackson at Great Faith Ministries in Detroit.

South Carolina pastor Mark Burns, who has helped with the GOP candidate’s outreach to African-American voters, noted the Impact Network is the only African-American owned and operated national Christian television network. He said Trump would answer questions “relevant to the African-American community.”

Those issues include:

  • education, including historically black colleges and universities;
  • unemployment;
  • community safety; and
  • creating better opportunities for all.

“Citizens around the country will see, as I’ve have seen, the heart and compassion Mr. Trump has for all Americans, which includes minority communities whose votes have been taken for granted for far too long,” Burns said. The Impact Network reaches more than 50 million homes. It is currently being carried by DirecTV (Channel 380), Dish Network (Channel 268), Comcast and Roku.
