Which Presidential Candidates Will Speak Out Against the Iran Deal Today?
More people than ever—17 candidates—are seeking the Republican presidential nomination. All of them say they oppose President Obama’s nuclear agreement—some would call it a treaty—with Iran. But only three are speaking at today’s rally against the Iran deal.
Donald Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore will speak at the Tea Party Patriots rally today.
Trump has said he would renegotiate a bad deal and end the mullahs’ nuclear ambitions. “That’s what I do,” he said.
Sen. Cruz said the deal “makes war a certainty.”
Gov. Gilmore has been a longtime critic of the deal. “We’re sending a message to the other people in the Middle East who have been traditionally our allies and are telling them that in 15 years, at the very least, that [Iran is] going to be a legitimate nuclear state.”
All three will headline the program this afternoon in Washington, D.C., demanding it be ended.
