Congressman: Supreme Court decided to ‘disregard the words of God’ (Video)

Rep. Walter Jones, R-NC, is not known for pulling punches. In an interview in his home state this week, he not only said that same-sex “marriage” is wrong because it violates the Sciptures but gave a clear testimony that he believes the world must be guided by Biblical precepts. Congressman Jones told the Talk of the Town radio program in Greenville, North Carolina, that the justices’ 5-4 ruling to legalize gay “marriage” nationwide was a “decision to disregard the words of God.” America is “a nation that was founded on Judeo-Christian values,” he said. ‘You don’t have to be a religious person, but you still have to, in my opinion, acknowledge that the words in the Bible are God’s words, and God’s direction for America — and the world, quite frankly.” “When you defame the words of God, I think you are a nation in trouble.” In the brief exchange, which lasts just over a minute, Jones went on to say that God’s teachings on marriage are clear “in the Old Testament and the New Testament.” Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy reversed longstanding precedent in the 2003 Lawrence v. Texas decision to say that the law should no longer be based on sexual morality – the fact that a majority of people in an area morally disapprove of certain deviate sexual practices should have no bearing on the law. The court has “made so many” bad decisions,” Jones said, it was sad that last week’s marriage ruling was but “the worst.” The exchange begins at 6:46 to 8:00 in the video below:
