Sunday Talkers Dig Out, Then Dig Into Final Days of Iowa Race
Having just dug themselves out of the East Coast blizzard, the Sunday morning talk shows focused on the final days before the first-in-the-nation Iowa Caucuses, both for Republicans and Democrats. Much of the focus was on the all-out war that has developed between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz for the GOP nomination.
Don’t worry if you missed it, though. We’ve got it all right here.
ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos
ABC’s Sunday morning talker was hosted this week by Martha Raddatz from Iowa, where voters will take part in the first-in-the-nation caucus in just one week. She interviewed Jeb Bush and Bernie Sanders, discussed the recently announced endorsements from The Des Moines Register, and the blizzard along the East Coast. She also moderated a discussion on the National Review’s anti-Donald Trump issue. The roundtable discussed the Democrat presidential race in Iowa.
CBS’s Face the Nation
CBS’s Sunday morning politics program discussed the impacts of the East Coast blizzard, as well as the state of the Republican and Democrat presidential races with just eight days to go in Iowa. The latest CBS polls were released during the show, and the roundtable focused on predictions going into the first-in-the-nation Iowa Caucuses.
NBC’s Meet the Press
NBC’s signature Sunday morning program featured interviews with Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Host Chuck Todd also interviewed former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. The roundtable discussed the states of both parties’ presidential primary races with predictions for the Iowa Caucuses.
FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace
FOX’s Sunday program asked whether Marco Rubio could turn the GOP presidential primary race into a three-man battle, and released new FOX polls from the early voting states. It also included a discussion of the seriousness of Hillary Clinton’s email security breach. The roundtable handicapped the GOP presidential race between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.
