Watch: Bobby Jindal Passionately Defends Religious Liberty
He has not said for sure whether he is running for president, but Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has left no doubt about where he stands on religious liberty. In an op-ed for the New York Times, Jindal promised to stand up for religious freedom, unlike governors who “quickly cowered amid the shrieks of Big Business and the radical Left.” He has signed a Religious Freedom Restoration Act – the sort of bill other Republican governors in Indiana and Arkansas have watered down or threatened to veto – and issued an executive order forbidding the state from taking any “adverse action” against business owners who refuse to participate in same-sex “marriage” ceremonies. Now, he’s taking his love of religious freedom viral. In an online video posted by his super PAC, the American Future Project, Jindal calls the freedom of religion the cornerstone of American law and the key reason for her very existence. The rights every American cherishes were “endowed by our Creator, given by God above,” Jindal says in the video, which is a brief excerpt of his commencement speech at Liberty University last month. “The United States of America did not create religious liberty. Religious liberty created the United States of America,” he said. You may watch the whole video here:
