WATCH: This Pro-Abortion Lawyer Told Congress that Dismembering Babies is ‘Humane’
The abortion industry is beyond parody. It calls abortion “health care.” It calls its program of harvesting and selling fetal organs a “humanitarian undertaking.” And now, one of its foremost legal spokespersons has said dismembering babies in the womb is “humane.”
The House Judiciary Committee held its first hearing on Planned Parenthood’s wrongdoing on Wednesday. Its members heard from both sides of the issue—including Priscilla Smith, the director of Yale Law School’s Program for the Study of Reproductive Justice, who was invited to the hearing by the committee’s Democrats.
Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-VA, asked Professor Smith if she felt dismemberment abortions—technically known as the dilation and evacuation (D&E) abortion method, in which an unborn child is literally ripped limb-from-limb —is “humane.”
After attempting to dodge the question, she finally spoke up.
“I believe for a fetus, pre-viable fetus—yes, a D & E procedure is a very humane procedure, and it protects the woman and health and safety more than any other procedure,” she said.
“I have to say, your view of humanity and mine are different,” Rep. Goodlatte replied.
Meanwhile, abortion survivor Gianna Jessen, sitting just a few feet away, said, “I’m speechless with Ms. Smith’s reply.”
Watch her cold-blooded answer, and see if you have the words to respond. If you do, please use it to utter a prayer.
