Supporters Celebrate in Anticipation of Barrett Confirmation
In contrast to a rally just a few days earlier where participants were overwhelmed by antifa-related thugs, a coalition of groups from Concerned Women of America, Students for Life, Heritage Foundation, Liberty Counsel and others celebrated outside the Senate building as Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation moved to the full Senate Friday.
“We’ve traveled 3,200 miles since Oct. 6, and I can report that in every place we’ve stopped, women are excited and energized about Judge Barrett, soon to be associate justice of the Supreme Court,” said Doreen Denny of Concerned Women for America. “Our daughters, including my own, see in Judge Barrett the strength that comes when a woman of conviction thinks for herself, pursues excellence in her profession and when the values of faith and family are an unshakable foundation of her life.”
“All across the country this week and in Washington, D.C., the pro-life generation called on voters to prioritize the human rights issue of our day—abortion—and vote pro-life first. The reason for that could not be more clear as for 50 years, choosing the right person to nominate judges for a Supreme Court vacancy has been a reason to vote. Judge Barrett is a brilliant choice for the Supreme Court, and she is a role model for this generation. We call on voters and members of Congress to consider the impact of abortion on the least of these and work to protect life in law,” said Kristi Hamrick of Students for Life.
“Judge Amy Coney Barrett is eminently qualified to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court and Americans deserve to know who will oppose her confirmation and who supports court packing to implement the Left’s radical policies,” said David McIntosh, president of The Club For Growth, “The more America hears about Judge Barrett the more they like her, and I was proud to stand with so many others who proudly support her.”
Jessica Anderson, head of Heritage Action, said, “We are so grateful for everyone who came out to support Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s historic confirmation. Activists across the nation are excited to have this outstanding judge and are working hard to ensure she is confirmed to the Supreme Court. We know she will be an impartial justice and rule according to the law, not her own political preferences. She is an inspiration to women everywhere—she’s a woman of faith who has succeeded in raising a wonderful family while having a tremendous legal career. We look forward to her serving on the Supreme Court for years to come.”
Bestselling author of God, Trump and COVID-19 Stephen Strang says, “Trump is committed to doing the right thing. He has worked hard to place conservatives on the Supreme Court, despite Democrats doing everything they could to impede his progress.”
“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God” (Rom. 13:1).
Peggy Nienaber, vice president of Faith & Liberty, ended the rally with prayer saying, “We thank the many who have prayed. We feel our prayers and worship outside the Senate buildings not only gave support for the nominee and her family, but we believe our faith made a difference. The judge has stated that she believes in the power of prayer, and we do too. With her confirmation process moving along with no stalls, this is an answer to our prayers. God prevails.” {eoa}
