Ted Cruz Gets a Boost From This Conservative Leader
U.S. Rep. Tom McClintock (R-Calif.) has a long history of fighting for conservative principles, including efforts to limit the size and scope of the federal government.
He’s also been one of the biggest champions of the effort to rein in President Obama’s executive overreach, as well as repealing Obamacare. Congressional observers know his number one goal is upholding his oath of office and protecting the Constitution.
Thursday, mere hours before the Republican presidential debate was set to begin on FOX Business Network, McClintock made his endorsement for President of the United States:
“This election is too important to leave to chance. Ted Cruz is the only top tier candidate we can be absolutely certain will govern conservatively and constitutionally; who will stand his ground no matter what the pressure and articulate our positions boldly and convincingly to the American people. After nearly three decades of disappointments, our next president needs to come from the Republican wing of the Republican Party.”
Cruz thanked McClintock for his support, noting the California congressman is a “leader” in working to reduce government spending, reining in the national debt, and working for “conservative reforms.” Like Cruz, McClintock has also been on the front lines against Washington insiders, which Cruz refers to as “the Washington Cartel.”
“We need more leaders like Tom in Washington to protect conservative principles,” he said. “I am thrilled to have Tom’s support in working together to restore the principles America was founded on.”
