Ted Cruz Tells Wisconsin: ‘We’ll See Opportunity Again’
The Cruz for President campaign’s latest television ad is only running in Wisconsin, but it could just as easily run anywhere, because it has a message that will resonate with all Americans.
The 60-second spot, titled “Opportunity,” adopts some of the populist issues that have made Republican front-runner Donald Trump the man to beat. But it does so with the charm that has made Cruz a popular alternative in the GOP presidential race.
“Our campaign is for working moms, the truck drivers, the mechanics and the machinists with calluses on their hands,” Cruz says in the ad. “It’s for the farmers and factory workers and the families who worry about prices going up while paychecks stay flat. It’s for the young people coming out of school unable to find a job.
“We will repeal Obamacare, peel back the EPA, and all the burdensome regulations that are killing small businesses and manufacturing. I’m going to stand up for fair trade, and bring our jobs back from China. We will see wages going up. We’ll see opportunity again.
“We’ll see a president who will stand with the people of Wisconsin, and Americans everywhere.”
See the ad below. It is running statewide in Wisconsin, which goes to the polls Tuesday in its quadrennial presidential primary. Currently, Cruz holds a narrow lead over Trump and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
