Want to Know How a Contested Convention Would Work?
With all of the talk about the possibility of a contested convention (note: both Donald Trump and Ted Cruz still have mathematical chances of winning an outright majority beforehand), many Republicans have wondered just how a contested convention would work.
Well, the Republican National Committee has launched a new website with all the answers.
ConventionFacts.gop provides an easy way to learn about the 2016 Republican National Convention, the mechanism through which—since 1856—they party has adopted its platform, determined the rules that will govern the party, and nominated its presidential and vice presidential candidates. The website’s goal is to serve as an educational tool about how the process works by answering frequently asked questions about the rules, delegates, and exactly what happens at a national party convention.
“ConventionFacts.gop is a tool for voters to learn about convention delegates, rules, and how the overall process works in a simple, easy to understand format,” RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said. “Conventions are democracy in action and our Party’s gathering in Cleveland will be an exciting, transparent, and fair process.”
