WATCH: This Candidate Says Saving Religious Freedom Is ‘the Biggest Issue for the Next President’

What is the most important issue that will face the 45th president of the United States? Politicians used to name “education” as the most important challenge facing the country, so future generations could climb higher than their parents. As the nation’s well-being declined, they named “the economy” as their main concern, hoping the current generation could just keep pace.

Today, the survival of America’s primary, defining freedoms and character are at stake, according to one 2016 Republican presidential hopeful.

The First Amendment’s freedom of religion is the most pressing item for the next commander-in-chief, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee told Sean Hannity following the debate last Thursday.

He cited Kim Davis, who was arrested for refusing to issue a marriage license to a homosexual couple.

“We accommodated Nidal Hassan, the Ft. Hood Shooter,” Huckabee said. “We accommodate the terrorist detainees at Gitmo.”

But Christians? To prison with you!

“I think we have just allowed ourselves to fall and surrender to judicial tyranny,” Gov. Huckabee said.

“I think this is the biggest issue for the next president: Will you actually exercise the power of the executive branch, or will you just allow the judiciary run the whole country?”

Long before being elected president, Barack Obama told a Chicago public radio forum in 2001 the nation needed an “activist” executive branch to impose “wealth redistribution” and other aspects of the Left’s agenda.

As president, he has shown himself as good as his word—imposing a pen-and-phone agenda of ruling by executive order to circumvent Congress on issues as diverse as environmental and energy policy, Planned Parenthood funding, and executive amnesty.

The Obama administration has decided it has the right to reinterpret the law from top to bottom. Although the 1964 and 1968 Civil Rights Acts make no mention or homosexuals or transgender people, the Obama administration has chosen to “interpret” them as though they didand sued or threatened to prosecute individuals accordingly. For instance, the administration has threatened to take a school district to court unless it let a transgender teenager spend the night in a hotel room with members of the opposite biological sex.

Mike Huckabee has promised, if he’s elected president, he will make it his administration’s understanding that life begins at conception and religious liberty is a fundamental right.
