Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District has nominated Rep. Michele Bachmann for reelection.

Although the Republican conservative bowed out of the 2012 presidential race after the Iowa caucus, she filed for reelection to the 6th Congressional District in Minnesota and will officially run for her fourth term in Congress as a leader of conservative and common-sense solutions.

“I’m grateful again to the many supporters who voted for me in this election,” Bachmann says. “As we get started in the general election, I’m proud to stand on my record to reduce federal deficits in Washington and serve constituents here at home. From repealing ObamaCare, to the construction of a new bridge, my focus is getting Minnesotans back in businesses and standing up for our shared values.”

In 2010, Bachmann won the SBA List 2010 Distinguished Leader Award for her consistent advocacy for unborn children and women in Congress. Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser calls her one of the most outspoken and passionate advocates for unborn children and women we have in Congress.

Bachmann and her husband, Marcus, have five children and have also served as foster parents to more than 23 at-risk teens, which has inspired Bachmann to become one of Congress’ leading advocates for foster and adopted children, earning her bipartisan praise for her efforts.

“A pro-woman champion in the mold of Susan B. Anthony, her perseverance in defending women from the tragedy of abortion is an invaluable asset to the pro-life cause,” says Dannenfelser. “Michele is a pro-life leader on the national stage and has been a champion for Life, especially when it comes to fighting to end taxpayer funding of abortion, defund Planned Parenthood, and protect unborn girls from sex-selective abortion. We know she will continue to serve the unborn and women of Minnesota in the U.S. House after her November victory.”
