In a new campaign video released Sunday morning, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) attacked the credibility of one of his fellow candidates for the Republican presidential nomination.
In announcing the new video, which attacks Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), the Paul campaign issued the following statement:
“From granting amnesty to illegals, to welcoming Syrian refugees into our nation and from opposing the Patriot Act to supporting TPA, Senator Cruz has time and again conveniently switched his position. Voters have a right to know, where does Ted Cruz stand?”
The video includes and excerpt from an exchange between FOX News Channel’s Bret Baier and Cruz in which the GOP presidential candidate was asked about his amendments to the Gang of Eight bill in 2013 in which Cruz appears to uncharacteristically stumble over his words. The briefly tongue-tied Cruz reappears throughout the video.
