Could You Be the Solution to the Refugee Crisis?

Imagine you are a parent of a little child and have no milk to give to the baby. You live in a foreign country without any rights or privileges and without any hope of change in your life. Your baby is crying but you can’t comfort her, so you cry out in despair :”God, if You exist, please give me milk for my child!”

Several weeks ago WMA team was in Beirut, Lebanon. They visited a home of a refugee woman from Syria, who had just asked God to provide milk for her hungry baby. Our team had been scheduled by the local church to visit a different household, but due to a “glitch” in the schedule they ended up in her home. When she found out that these were believers from the U.S., she shared with them her prayer. Immediately one of our team members went to the store and bought the milk. Such instant answer to her prayer showed her who the true God is!

Another powerful encounter was with a young Syrian teenager, who converted from Islam while still in Syria. His family spent months looking for a Bible. They traveled to neighboring villages in hopes of someone selling them a copy. They finally received their first Bible when they fled to Lebanon as refugees.

These are just two of many stories we have experienced during our ministry in Lebanon!

The need for evangelism in Beirut is extremely urgent. We see large numbers of Muslim refugees accepting Christ. Most of them are women—their husbands have to work long hours earning minimum wage just to pay rent for the dismal housing infested with mold. They don’t have the chance to attend Bible studies and church meetings, but the women are true evangelists. As soon as they receive Jesus, they share the Good News.

We are returning to Lebanon Oct. 30—Nov. 9 and we need help. We urge anyone who has a heart for the desperate, a vision for the Middle East or just the passion to share Christ to prayerfully consider this invitation.

We also need medical professionals, doctors, nurses and so forth to hold a medical clinic in our partner church and give the refugees access to medical advice and medicine.

Our last clinic treated 192 refugees in just five days! {eoa}
