New Film Reveals Missing Key to Shattering Same-Sex Addiction

How’s that journey you’re on? Life presents us with lots of complications and trials. But Praise God, He has not left us without solutions. In this post-modern age, we have all but thrown out God’s precious Word to us.

For decades, we refused to acknowledge or talk about same-sex attraction.  It’s referred to in multiple places in the Word of God, but all we seemed to do was to know that it was sin, instead of looking to Christ and His solutions. He has not left or forsaken us.  He lets us travel the journey, in hopes that we will see our great need of Him.

The team members of ‘Coming Out’ Ministries lived in the gay culture for many years. The world’s message has been that we just need to be ourselves. Does God call us to something else? Does He tell us to be ourselves, or does He offer an identity in Him? Is it about Jesus, or is it about me?

It’s pretty easy to get off track if we don’t keep our focus on Jesus. It happened to the Israelites for many years in the desert as they wandered without recognizing that Jesus needed to be first in their lives.

Each of us has arrived with the stain of sin on us. And so our natural bend is toward sinful inclinations.  Isn’t it awesome that our journey can be interrupted?  Our focus can be changed by inviting Jesus to take control.

Journey Interrupted is a film about the importance of putting Jesus first. Paul makes it clear that our battle here; it’s with self. Philippians 4:13 can bring a paradigm shift to our lives if we invite Jesus to be in control.  Change is possible. But what is the change?  There have been ministries in the past that have promoted the change of turning someone “gay” into someone “straight.” But it’s quite unlikely that we are redeemed by the kind of sex we’re having.

When we put Jesus first, He will orchestrate change in our lives. And His changes will always agree with His Word. Not even all heterosexuals marry. God has a unique plan for each of us. This is might even include celibacy.  The world today promotes that sex is a rite of passage. But this is where we must make a personal decision as to whether our focus is on the world or if we will put our focus on Jesus.

Journey Interrupted compassionately and tenderly follows the lives of five people. Anna openly shares from her life as a lesbian, still considering life’s options. Jesus is a God of invitation, not force. His patience with all of His children is overwhelming.

‘Coming Out’ Ministries travels the world sharing about what is possible with Jesus.  He doesn’t want to take from us. He wants to give an abundance of gifts to us. His ways are not our ways. The danger we face today is in equating man’s knowledge to God’s and in running the risk of elevating human knowledge over His supreme knowledge.

My only safety is in maintaining an unbroken relationship with Jesus Christ. That’s the only safety any of us have, regardless of what tempts us. Our goal is not in telling people what they need to do, but in helping others seek intimacy with Jesus and in finding Him trustworthy.  Letting go of self is challenging, and even painful at times.

Our journey on Earth is to refine us for eternity with our Creator. Second Corinthians 5:17 tells me that when I surrender to Jesus, I am a “New Creature” in Him. What an incredible identity He offers all of us.

“Journey Interrupted” is a fresh approach to dealing with an issue that has become increasingly controversial. When you purchase the DVD, you receive a bonus hour and a half-conversation with ‘Coming Out’ Ministries.  Order your copy at journeyinterrupted.com and visit us at comingoutministries.org.
