Gospel-rock artist Munday Martin has just released his new single, “Silver Lining.” In it, he captures his arduous journey through recovery from drug abuse and addiction and contemplation of suicide to deliverance and freedom. Blending customary gospel music themes with rock styles and rhythms, Martin’s sound suggests a hybrid of early ’80s new wave with latter ’80s Christian rock.
“What almost brought me to the brink of wanting my life to end, through utter failure mentality, became a valuable lesson and a beautiful silver lining after rehabilitation,” he says in his YouTube channel. “I found freedom in helping others, and the new freedom I found was worth the impossible weight I carried. God was the closest friend during those eight tough years. I thought at times He abandoned me, but He was a friend of sinners to me.” Martin and his wife, Jennifer, operate Contagious Love International ministry in LaVergne, Tennessee.
“Munday was radically saved in 1999 shortly after he encountered a dream from the Lord where he saw a glimpse of both heaven and hell in the middle of the night while lost in college,” per the ministry website. Both Munday and Jennifer share testimonies of recovery from addiction and now minister deliverance and freedom through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jennifer also operates the Awaken The Heart media program through their ministry.
“This song is dedicated to all of those struggling with addictions out there,” Munday says. “I’m living proof there is a light at this end of this dark tunnel, and His name is Jesus.” {eoa}
