Prophecy: Kick Judas and Achan Out of Your Life

Share:

This is a season during which the Lord is taking you places that you’ve never been to before. Those that you chose to take with you must be scrutinized by the Holy Spirit. It’s true that the Lord loves all us, but there are some that He doesn’t like in terms of their relationship with you. During this time of spiritual and natural elevation, you can’t take just anyone everywhere God leads you to go!

Jesus Never Took Judas Anywhere

Throughout the New Testament, Jesus only took a certain number of disciples particular places. For instance, only Peter, James and John were allowed to go to the Mount of Transfiguration with Jesus (Matt. 17:1-13). To my knowledge, Judas was never included in these intimate meetings, at least it wasn’t shared in the holy Scriptures that I’ve seen. Jesus didn’t invite him out personally or with two or three other disciples. You never read that Jesus, John, James and Judas went to pray! He was usually addressed by Jesus only when he was among the 12 disciples. John 6:70-71 is one example of how He communicated with Judas while among the 12.

“Jesus answered them, ‘Have I not chosen you, the twelve, and yet one of you is a devil?’ He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. For it was he who would betray Him, being one of the twelve” (John 6:70-71).

Judas Was a Devil

Here, Jesus stated that one of His disciples was a devil! He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who, though one of the Twelve, was later to betray Him. Why would the Lord ask that question? Because He knew what was in Judas. He also knew that what was in him had the potential to take him over at the appointed time. In latter verses, the enemy actually took Judas over. Satan was the initiator of the betrayal and unwittingly caused his own greatest downfall when Jesus went to the cross. Many times, what the enemy meant for evil in our lives works out for good if we keep our eyes on the Lord.

Get Rid of the Achans in Your Life

We must know what is in the people we take with us into various realms of God’s glory. Sometimes we gain limited access or exclusion to spiritual realms based upon the company we keep. It can cause us to lose battles that the Lord meant for us to win. Do you remember the battle of AI in Joshua 7? The children of Israel lost a battle to an inferior army based on the actions of one person, Achan. He stole items that belonged to the Lord while in Jericho. It was only after he, his family and the stolen goods were “destroyed,” that Israel was able to defeat that smaller foe to whom they had previously lost. Am I saying you are to “destroy” the Achans in your life? Absolutely not. I am saying you need to get rid of them!

Judas’ Can’t Keep Confidences

Where God is taking you, Judas can’t go! Why? Because Judas will reveal that which is secret and not ready for public consumption! In Matthew 17:9, as they (Jesus, Peter, James and John) were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead.” He couldn’t say this to Judas. Why? Because He knew he would betray Him before he actually betrayed Him! Jesus knew he was talebearer, a liar and a thief. So, discernment let Jesus know that Judas couldn’t go. Discernment should do the same for you concerning those that just aren’t meant to go where you’re going.

Identifying Judas

Identify the Judases in your life. While they may have purpose concerning your destiny in God, they don’t have to go everywhere you go. You may have to tolerate them, but they should not have unlimited access to the secret places God has ordained you to visit. There are only a chosen few with that privilege. So next time Judas Iscariot wants accompany you somewhere, tell him (or her) he cannot go. Selah!
