WATCH: Kirk Franklin, Maverick City Music Join 1,300 Prisoners in Asking God to “Bless Me’
Kirk Franklin and Maverick City Music will release a unique project, “Kingdom Book One” on Friday, June 17, recorded at the largest prison event in U.S. history.
On March 1 of this year, these popular gospel artists worshipped with 1,300 inmates at the Everglades Correctional Institution in Miami, Florida, as they created the new album. This song, “Bless Me,” is the second single from the album and reveals the Spirit-filled power and purpose behind the project.
The artists report that “the heart behind this project is to not only expand the idea of what the Kingdom of God looks like but to also share and spread music and a message that taps into an inspirational and unfiltered love for all people.”
Bless me, bless me/ Bless me God indeed/ Death has been defeated/ He is our victory.
Bless me, bless me/ God not just for me/ But so everyone around me can have everything they need
Let all these folks that’s with me God have everything they need.
Favor, favor/ Let it fall on me/ Till I’m the conversation/ Of all my enemies/ Favor, favor/ God not just for me/ But so everyone around me can have everything they need
Let all these folks that’s with me God have everything they need.
“Most Christians come to jail to bring Jesus; we’re here to discover something about Him we haven’t seen,” says Maverick City CEO Tony Brown. Worship along with the unique grouping and see how He reveals Himself to you!
