‘Changing Hearts’: State Senate Bill Passes, Protects Integrity of Women’s Sports
In response to the Equality Act, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem tweeted Monday her excitement to sign a bill restricting biological males from participating in high school and college girls’ sports teams. South Dakota is one of more than 20 states this year that has considered legislative measures along these lines, including Mississippi, where lawmakers have already passed an identical bill banning transgender women from participating in women’s and girls’ sports teams. Noem’s response comes after the bill passed the state Senate in a 20-15 vote.
In South Dakota, we’re celebrating #InternationalWomensDay by defending women’s sports! I’m excited to sign this bill very soon. https://t.co/OU15HOwp2r

Republican State Sen. Maggie Sutton counters naysayers who deem the bill discriminatory, explaining, “This is a very simple bill. It’s a bill to protect women’s sports. It’s not against transgenders.”
Further, Franklin Graham shared his support on Twitter:
I know many parents, students, & families will be relieved & grateful that biological males cannot unfairly walk away with the wins & the scholarships that girls & young women have worked so hard for & deserve. May God bless @GovKristiNoem & South Dakota! https://t.co/7eRNWzpKer

Noem is known for stepping up and taking action to protect the rights of others, but more than that, she is a prominent political leader who protects their hearts.
Then-Congresswoman Noem, told CBN in a 2013 interview, “You know, [God] placed me [in the political arena], yes, to work on policy, but maybe my biggest job was to minister to individuals.” She said her focus was primarily on changing hearts, not policies. “They will know we are Christians by our love,” Noem said. “The way that He’s going to fix this country may be by changing people’s hearts and getting them geared toward Him. That’s the quickest way we’re going to get stuff done.”
