Autistic Child Denied Services for Family Refusing to Allow Cross-Dresser to Work in Home
Autistic children are incredibly sensitive to change. Anything new, unexpected or illogical can send these special children into a physical and emotional tailspin.
Sometimes unable to verbally communicate their distress, such children tend to express their pain and confusion via crying and self-harm that can last for hours or even days.
Autistic families learn to keep change to a minimum, making consistency a goal and continuity the core of their family life so their special child can know peace and thrive.
Liberty Counsel received a plea for help this week from a young family caught in the crossfire of the radical LGBTQ movement’s attempts to destroy that peace and force a cross-dresser into the home of this Christian family.
This outrageous story will be repeated if HR 5 passes.
Susan (name changed for privacy) and her husband have a small Christian ministry. Their 8-year-old child suffers from autism, requiring regular behavioral therapy performed in their home.
After their son’s prior female caregiver left the company providing behavioral services under a federal government contract, Susan inquired about her replacement and was told the new caregiver would be a woman.
But when Susan opened the door to greet the new therapist, before her stood a man dressed in drag.
Susan immediately called the therapy company, which first tried to insist that the new teacher was, in fact, a woman. But when Susan pressed the issue that the teacher was a man dressed as a woman, the company said Susan could not discriminate against this female imposter.
Susan was verbally informed that if she did not accept the man in drag, her son’s much-needed services would be terminated. And that’s exactly what happened.
Now Susan and her husband, both in Christian ministry, have no help for their precious son. If HR 5 passes, this heartbreaking experience will happen to other parents receiving help for their autistic children.
Cross-dressers, pedophiles and paraphiliacs will be in a protected class with special rights—and this bill will empower LGBTQ and abortion over anything else—including this family and their autistic son.
Ministers like Susan and her husband will be forced to hire cross-dressers and people with any other of the nearly 550 sexual paraphilias, and in the case of this family, even allowing access in your home to your vulnerable special-needs child. Refusal can result not just in loss of services but also lawsuits from the deviant as well as the U.S. Department of Justice.
Working together, we can and must stop the Equality Act.
We need your help to demand the Senate reject the so-called Equality Act. This bill will force LGBTQ and abortion into every corner of our lives (including online), and it revokes the 1993 Religious Freedom Restoration Act that protects religious freedom.
Without RFRA, churches and religious schools will be forced to hire cross-dressers and other sexual deviants, allow boys in the girls’ bathrooms and much more. And Christian families like Susan’s will be forced to allow confused cross-dressers into their own private homes … or else.
This dangerous bill must be stopped now. The Senate Judiciary Committee hearing begins today. But Sen. Schumer invoked Rule 14, meaning he can call up the bill for a vote any time without committee hearings. {eoa}
