Top of the Week: US Swimmer Leans on Isaiah 40, Brings Home 5 Golds
The 24-year-old Floridian completed the 100-meter butterfly in 49.45 seconds and broke his world record by .05, all this just two days after setting an American record in the 100-meter freestyle. He also swam in the 50-meter freestyle semifinals.
At the conclusion of the race, Dressel told reporters, “It’s a really tough year, just really hard, so to have the results show up, I mean, it really came together, so I’m happy.”
Special guests gathered at the White House Rose Garden, celebrating a historic milestone—the 31st anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Attendees included President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Sen. Patrick Leahy and Sen. Bob Casey Jr., among others, including a number of individuals with physical disabilities.
Harris opened the proceedings, touting the law, enacted in 1990, as a great thing for disabled Americans.
A few days ago, I received an email from, of all entities, CNN. They wanted to know if I was still holding onto my “conspiracy theories.”
I thought, Who are the real conspiracy theory nut jobs?
Remember how the left ridiculed us for predicting disaster once Biden got into the White House? They were quite sincere and convinced that we were wrong. They said with conviction, “Oh no, you are wrong! Biden will be a president for all the people. The world will be relieved at his presence. Peace and security will ensue.”

It is the beginning of August, and a day of reckoning has finally arrived for renters all over the nation. Since last September, a moratorium issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been protecting millions of renters that have been unable or unwilling to make their monthly rent payments.
But now that moratorium is officially over, and all of that back rent is due. For some renters, that will mean that nearly a full year of rent will need to be paid. The millions of Americans who cannot or will not pay what is owed can now be legally evicted. This is a major national disaster that has been building up for many months, and now it is finally here.
Welcome to the biggest eviction horror show in American history.
Twice rejected by Vienna’s prestigious Academy of Fine Arts, the Austrian wannabe painter Adolf Hitler [1889-1945] was appointed chancellor of Germany on Jan. 30, 1933. Germany, the “country of poets and thinkers,” would now be led by someone who fraternized with cranks and criminals and was often seen carrying a dog whip in public.
The Third Reich (“the third empire”) had been inaugurated.
George Strausser Messersmith (1883-1960) was the United States consul general in Berlin during the rise and initial Nazification of Germany from 1930 to 1934. Nicknamed “40-page George” for his lengthy missives to Washington, Messersmith reported extensively on the Nazi policy of Gleichschaltung: Hitler’s enforcement of “political conformity in all sectors, from the economy and trade associations to the media, culture and education.” {eoa}
