College Athletes Win COVID Victory in Court

The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled unanimously in favor of 16 athletes who filed a federal civil rights lawsuit challenging Western Michigan University’s unlawful denial of their request for religious accommodation from the college’s shot mandate. This decision is now binding precedent in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.

The students represent numerous teams at WMU including the football, baseball, women’s basketball, women’s soccer, dance team and cross-country programs. WMU recently instituted a requirement for all its athletes in all sports to take the COVID-19 injection or forfeit their right to play intercollegiate sports. However, no similar “vaccine” requirement exists for any other students at WMU and other universities, including Michigan State University and University of Michigan, which are granting religious accommodations to athletes.

U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney initially ordered a 14-day temporary restraining order on the university’s shot mandate for athletes. WMU would have forced the athletes to be vaccinated by Aug. 31 or be kicked off the team. The university then appealed the ruling to the 6th Circuit.

Pastor Robert Morris Warns of the Dangers of the Jezebel Spirit

“I believe the No. 1 spirit that attacks leaders is the Jezebel spirit,” Pastor Robert Morris of Gateway Church says, explaining that he preached another message on Jezebel about 10 years ago that God continues to use in mighty ways.

Morris cautions his hearers that Satan will do his best to keep them from hearing such an important word.

“I’m calling it the Jezebel spirit, but I believe there’s a spirit that attacks leaders,” he says, noting the specific phrase “the Jezebel spirit” is not found in Scripture. It attacked Elijah in the Old Testament and was also attacking leaders at the church of Thyatira in the New Testament (Rev. 2), Morris explains.

Michael Brown: I Refuse to Accept the Current State of the Church

I refuse to accept that the church as we know it in America and the West is the very best the church will ever be. I refuse to accept that the anemic, divided, often powerless version of the church that we are so accustomed to seeing here is the only version we will ever see in this world.

Not if the Bible is true. Not if Jesus is Lord. Not if the Holy Spirit has been poured out. Not if God’s promises are real.

To the contrary, because the Bible is true. And because Jesus is Lord. And because the Holy Spirit has been poured out. And because God’s promises are real. We will see a glorious church, walking in grace and victory and purity and power. We will see a bride fit for her groom. We will see the Messianic community that He Himself is building. And the very gates of Hades will not overcome that church. {eoa}
