God’s ‘Chief Fire Igniter’ Sparks Transformation in the Marketplace
As a business entrepreneur, Shae Bynes is a go-getter. Her mission, through her ministry Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur, is to spark excellence in the marketplace among kingdom-run business owners—those who are willing to work by the infinite power of God’s grace and favor.
About a year into her venture with Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur, Bynes felt as if God dubbed her with the moniker of “Chief Fire Igniter,” a nickname she believed was appropriate to help her with that kingdom mission. And it is that nickname that has motivated Bynes to make an impact in the business world globally and to equip leaders to be catalysts for transformation in the marketplace. She does that through her podcast, Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur, as well as her writing.
Bynes authored a book called Grace Over Grind, which challenges kingdom business owners to shift their thinking to simply glorify God through their companies and to do business His way.
“Entrepreneurs like to give themselves cutesy names sometimes, but that’s a name that God gave me,” Bynes told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of Greenelines on the Charisma Podcast Network. “The reason He gave me that name is because after doing a study on fire, which He asked me to do, I was like, ‘Wow, fire represents Your presence. It represents Your power, it represents Your love and it represents purity.
“That’s what we need to ignite in other people. So, He gave me that name just to cultivate the work I was doing.”
Entrepreneurs from around the world listen to Bynes’ devotionals, read her books, enroll her courses and watch her videos to find out what it takes to run their businesses “as if they were working for the Lord”—which Bynes says all Christian business owners should be doing in the first place.
In other words, it’s all about God’s grace and rest over the daily grind of business.
“They need to align with His heart their assignments in business and make it their kingdom identity,” Bynes says. “I heard a message in church where the pastor talked about Matthew 11:28-30, which talks about Jesus, who says, ‘Come to me, all of those who are weary, and you’ll find rest for your souls.’ But our pastor read it in a version that I’ve never heard before.
“It said, ‘Are you tired, worn out, burnt out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you, keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.
“When I heard that, it was like my whole soul said, ‘Yes, yes.’ I don’t know exactly what that looks like, but I want that in every area of my life.”
