Documentary Exposes Critical Race Theory’s Racist Foundation

Despite being billed as an educational panacea for racism, critical race theory is a thinly disguised Marxist tool to divide people, create identity groups and bring down America through disunity, according to Dr. Carol Swain and other experts interviewed in the new documentary, Whose Children Are They?

“Parents need to be aware that critical race theory is un-American and that it is dividing our children in ways that are unacceptable,” Swain says. “It is teaching them to become conscious of race. And that is very dangerous. It runs counter to our civil rights laws, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the amendments that were made to it in 1972.”

Swain is an award-winning political scientist, a former professor of political science and former professor of law at Vanderbilt University, as well as a lifetime member of the James Madison Society, an international community of scholars. Before joining Vanderbilt in 1999, she was a tenured associate professor of politics and public policy at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. After realizing that the university system was a big part of the push for the critical race theory and other anti-American ideologies, Swain left the system. She authored Be the People and founded Be the People Project.

In Whose Children Are They?, Swain shares the absurdity of liberals trying to “educate” her about race.

“I’ve had several encounters with woke, young white progressives, bless their hearts—and I say that in the Southern sense—who have tried to teach me about poverty and teach me how to be sensitive to racial and ethnic minorities and other concerns,” she says. “And, you know, I sort of smile because I know that they’re innocent. They don’t know any better.”

Produced by an all-star production team, the documentary reveals exactly how dangerous schools have become, and what parents and tax-paying citizens can do about it.

Slated for release on March 14, 2022 by Fathom Events, Whose Children Are They? features brave teachers, emboldened parents and front-line experts who show how schools are bombarding children with age-inappropriate sex education and indoctrinating them with political and social ideologies without their parents’ knowledge or consent.

The producing team includes Jonathan Flora, an award-winning writer, director and producer; and Parents United America founder and President Deborah Flora, a parental rights advocate who helped flip the Douglas County School Board and introduced curriculum transparency legislation.

“Whose Children Are They? is designed to drag into the light the radical indoctrination that is being hidden from parents,” Flora says. “In our own school district, CRT was being introduced under the euphemistic term ‘Educational Equity.’ It is the opposite of equal opportunity, which is instead what truly helps children from every walk of life flourish.”

Also serving as producer is Rebecca Friedrichs, founder of For Kids and Country. Friedrichs, a veteran educator, was the plaintiff in the 2016 U.S. Supreme Court case Friedrichs v. California Teachers’ Association, which blazed the trail for ending forced unionization of teachers and government employees.

The team also includes executive producer Gerald Molen, the Academy Award-winning producer of Schindler’s List and other blockbusters including Jurassic Park, Minority Report, Catch Me If You Can, Amistad, Twister and Rain Man.

One segment of Whose Children Are They? addresses the impact of treating disciplinary problems strictly in racial terms.

“You can’t use racism to fight racism,” Dr. Robert Woodson, founder of the Woodson Center, stated. “One of the worst things that happened in the Obama administration was the Department of Education giving a directive to schools that it must end the discrimination of students by discipline because a disproportionate number of Black students were being expelled from school as compared to white students.”

Swain further commented on the anti-discipline policies of critical race theory: “With ‘restorative justice’ in the classroom, it made it harder for teachers to discipline students. It made it almost impossible to suspend children who were dangerous and truly unruly. There were teacher injuries, as well as situations where the children … were so intimidated by the bullies … that they themselves had higher absenteeism.”

In addition to Flora, Friedrichs, Swain and Woodson, experts featured in Whose Children Are They? include investigative journalist Alex Newman; Ian Prior of Fight for Schools; Gina Gleason of Real Impact; Mailyn Salabarria, raised in communist Cuba; and Xi Van Fleet, who survived Maoist Red China.

“Our documentary informs people of exactly how dangerous and anti-American our schools have become,” Friedrichs says, “And it teaches them how to stand with good teachers—against the unions who promote CRT and other corrupting ideologies—for the sake of our kids and our country.” {eoa}
