Singer Jenni Rivera’s Brother Glorifies God Despite Deadly Plane Crash
Mexican singer Lupillo Rivera has credited his Christian faith with helping him heal after his sister Jenni Rivera died in a plane crash in December.
The Latin music world was plunged into mourning after the superstar perished when her private jet went down over Mexico on Dec. 9, and her younger sibling insists he now feels her presence when he is onstage.
Lupillo tells E! News, “I feel her. I’ve felt a heaviness on my shoulder, I’ve felt shadows around the stage. It feels good. I like that. … It’s never going to be a complete healing. The pain and suffering will always be there. It’s my sister, somebody that’s not here with us anymore. There will always be an empty spot. Being as we believe in God and we know she’s in a better place—that’s our satisfaction.”
Rivera has vowed to honor his sister’s legacy by continuing to perform, adding, “I hope the fans enjoy the shows I’m doing. And I hope they keep on supporting her image, her music, her personality. That’s all I ask for.”
