Mark Burnett Calls ‘Son of God’ Movie ‘Jesus for a Whole New Generation’
Son of God, the Twentieth Century Fox feature film from the creators of The Bible miniseries, will be released in theaters nationwide Feb. 28, 2014. This motion picture will bring the story of Jesus’ life to audiences through the same cinematic storytelling that Fox says has made The Bible the best-selling miniseries of all time.
Producer and Actress Roma Downey (Touched by an Angel, The Bible) and Producer Mark Burnett (The Voice, Survivor, The Apprentice, The Bible) brought the epic miniseries to television audiences around the world with their company LightWorkers Media. The series became the No. 1 cable entertainment telecast of the year, one of the fastest-selling TV-to-disc titles ever and went on to garner three Emmy Award nominations.
The producers are excited that their Jesus narrative will finally be seen on the big screen.
