Evangelist Nick Vujicic’s World Outreach Reaches 400 Million
Life Without Limbs founder and evangelist Nick Vujicic spent the past year traveling to 24 countries, telling packed audiences worldwide the story of how he overcame seemingly insurmountable physical obstacles to deliver a message of hope, love and the power of Jesus Christ. Now the powerful story of Nick’s World Outreach is being told via a first-of-its-kind Web series that debuts Monday at lifewithoutlimbs.tv.
New episodes will premiere Monday and then continue every Monday at 10 a.m. PST. After the initial airing, each episode will re-run continuously at the top of every hour. Visitors to the site have the option of subscribing to the series, and a preview is now available on YouTube.
Born without arms or legs because of a rare disorder known as tetra-amelia syndrome, Vujicic says he “tried to give up” and attempted to drown himself at age 10. Now married and with a young son, he is deeply grateful for the gift of life and uses his travels to encourage others around the world to find strength in Christ.
The Web series documents Vujicic’s 2013 outreach, which took him to Japan, Hungary, Vietnam, Hong Kong, South America and elsewhere across the globe. The power of Vujicic’s evangelism drew an estimated total face-to-face audience of 400,000 people throughout the outreach, including audiences as large as 35,000 in Ho Chi Minh. An estimated 400 million worldwide heard Nick’s message through TV broadcasts and other media.
What drew Vujicic to such an ambitious mission?
“The opportunity to impact huge numbers of people through events and conferences was an amazing way to feel the joy of the Lord,” he says. “Yet at the same time, it was the stories of individuals who showed how God works in our daily lives. I heard countless stories of joy, hope and inspiration. I thank the Lord for the chance to share their stories with the world.”
Vujicic’s story and message are resonating worldwide, generating more than 300,000 followers on Twitter and 2.2 million “likes” on Facebook and giving Vujicic the opportunity to communicate with a wide audience via television appearances on 60 Minutes, the Oprah Winfrey Network and elsewhere.
