Culture-Warring Pastor Sees Sudden Death Before Church
An Ohio pastor was killed in a car accident early Sunday morning.
Melford J. Elliot, 51, was on the interstate when his car hit the median and he was ejected, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. He then was hit by another driver.
His death has been a shock to the community.
“Pastor Elliott was definitely an awesome, (full-bodied), gospel-singing and preaching, chosen man of God,” writes Beverly Alexander-Roberts. “He truly loved the Lord and his family. … R.I.H. Pastor Elliott, you truly spread God’s Word while you were on this earth and touched the lives of so many.”
While many are calling for prayers for the Elliot family, one commenter asked for prayers for the driver.
“Pastor Elliott was the kind of man who would do just that,” writes Ehdra Frazier. He would have gotten out of his car and touched everyone involved and prayed.”
Elliot is perhaps best-known for a stunt in which he and other area pastors orchestrated their arrests for defending the faith.
Please lift his family up in prayer.
