Rubio Continues to Build Momentum Off His Iowa Finish
Presidential candidate U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) turned heads with his “close third” finish in the Iowa Republican Caucus on Monday night.
Now his campaign is using that momentum to their advantage in New Hampshire. Wednesday morning, the Rubio camp announced the endorsement of one of the Granite State’s top GOP activists, Susan Duprey.
She served most recently as chief of staff for Ann Romney during the 2012 election. She also played key roles during John McCain’s run in 2008 and George W. Bush’s campaigns in 2000 and 2004.
“Having worked for the previous four Republican nominees for president, I know what it takes not only to win the Republican primary, but also to take on the Democratic Party machine and win the general election,” Duprey said. “Only one candidate meets that standard, and that is Marco Rubio. His knowledge on the issues, experience and ability to connect to the citizens of this country make him the most powerful contender against the Democrats. After his strong showing in Iowa on Monday night, momentum is breaking his way, and it has become abundantly clear that Marco Rubio is the best candidate for our party. I’m thrilled to throw my support behind Marco.”
