Hollywood Actor: Porn Addiction ‘Really, Really Messed Up My Life’
Former athlete and current actor Terry Crews says his pornography was a “dirty little secret” that nearly destroyed his marriage—and his life.
“It affected everything. My wife was literally like, ‘I don’t know you anymore. I’m out of here.’ I had to change,” the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor revealed in a series of Facebook videos. “I literally had to go to rehab for it.”
And while many in the world may deny watching pornography is evil, Crews says addiction is a problem in society.
“It changes the way you think about people. People become objects. People become body parts; they become things to be used rather than people to be loved.”
Millions have watched his online confessions, with thousands showing their support in likes and comments.
The pornography statistics are horrifying. According to Family Safe Media, more than $3,000 is spent on graphic images and videos every second. Nearly 30,000 are watching videos at any given second, and new videos are made every 39 minutes.
By 2017, a quarter of a billion people are expected to be accessing mobile adult content from their phones or tablets, an increase of more than 30 percent from 2013, according to CovenantEyes.
