Police officers pay their respects ahead of the funeral for Officer Lorne Ahrens

After Dallas, These Kind of Posts Are Going Viral

In the aftermath of the shootings deaths of five police officers in Dallas, people across the country have started breaking down barriers and crossing racial lines to pray together for peace and safety.

In many areas, police officers in blue and members of the black community have demonstrated support for one another by praying for each other.

Several posts related to such efforts to begin a healing process have gone viral.

In Baton Rouge, Kim L. Muyaka, a black woman, posted on Facebook about her experience praying with an officer.

“I pray that God will cover this police officer and use his hands not to hurt or harm but to protect the citizens!” she said.

In Virginia, Capt. Kenneth Miller, with the Virginia Beach Police Department, was also recorded praying with protesters on Monday.

In Montgomery, participants in the Black Lives Matter campaign and the local police department joined hands in prayer.

In Dallas, protestors with Black Lives Matter and a counter protest crossed the street and hugged one another.

“This is how you break down walls,” one protester said.

Before parting ways, the groups prayed together for their city and a police officer joined them.

New York City Pastor Chris Durso also posted this statement to Saturday: YES  which is why  – To agree is NOT to negate the rest of humanity, it’s to love a hurting a part of it.

And in Dallas, a video of crowds lining up to hug the city’s police officers shows many willing to take huge steps to help bring healing to a deeply wounded community.
