Alveda King: Voting With Moral Values Good for Your Bank Account

Share:

For some reason the pro-life natural marriage and family community doesn’t often include the economy in the moral values discussions. This seems odd in that for many, if not most, Americans the economy is at the top of the list of issues of concern to America’s voters.

Voting with morals in mind could pay off in the long run. It would be good maybe if we could regularly point out as a basis for comparisons among political platforms that:

The Democratic party platform contains entitlements that include robbing Social Security of funds by killing or preventing the birth of potential contributors; welfare handouts without providing America’s underserved a work ethic and the dignity of contributing to the society which serves them; casual sex with harmful chemical and surgeries as solutions to consequences; penalties to companies who promote Bible values; and an unequal distribution of taxation. All result in punishing people for considering moral consequences while rewarding harmful behaviors and robbing America’s coffers.

The Republican party platform, as well as other political platforms such as the New Independent Christian Party, support life with dignity from conception until natural death, natural marriage and healthy families allowing human beings to be conceived, to be born with dignity and to live healthy lives as contributors to a growing society which in turn serves them; sexual responsibility with regards to financial, emotional, physical and spiritual consequences; empowerment fair taxation and the work ethic; religious freedom, which allows employees to express their values openly and freely—a constitutional right by the way, etc.

Entitling people to unrestrained behaviors without consequences can be a very expensive venture in the long run. Voting our values can be empowering on the other hand; which could bless our bank accounts on the way home from the polls.

Staying home on Election Day isn’t an option. People died so that all Americans can vote. Voting is a civil right. Considering morals while pulling the lever is just plain common sense.
