‘Change’ and ‘Laura’: Trump Train Rolls Out 2 More TV Ads
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign released two new TV ads Wednesday in an escalating effort to reach out to voters in key battleground states ahead of the Nov. 8 general election.
In the first, titled “Change,” a narrator reads the following statement:
Hillary Clinton won’t change Washington.
She’s been there 30 years.
Taxes went up.
Terrorism spread.
Jobs vanished.
But special interests and Washington insiders thrived.
Donald Trump will turn Washington upside down: day one.
Real change that puts Americans first.
A vote for Hillary is a vote for more of the same.
A vote for Donald Trump is a vote for change that makes America great again.
Campaign spokesman Jason Miller said Hillary Clinton wants voters to believe that “behind the fog of scandal that shrouds her political career you find results, where in reality all you find is a trail of destruction that has damaged our economy and put American lives at risk.” With each leaked email, he added, Americans discover another instance in which the former secretary of state has “shouted down the voices of the American people in order to enrich herself.”
“Our country needs a change agent like Mr. Trump, who is drawing huge crowds across the country of Americans eager to have their voices heard, and to cast away the Washington, D.C., establishment and its longtime mouthpiece, Crooked Hillary Clinton,” he said.
The second spot, titled “Laura,” features Angel Mom Laura Wilkerson, whose son was brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant. Holding up a photo of her family, she makes the following pitch on behalf of the GOP nominee:
The man who murdered Joshua is an illegal alien and he should not have been here.
The killer hit him on the head with a closet rod so hard that it broke in four pieces, and then he took him to a field and he doused him with gasoline and set him on fire.
It was the hardest day of my life.
Hillary Clinton’s border policy is going to allow people into the country just like the one that murdered my son.
Wilkerson’s testimonial will air in the key battleground states of Florida, Iowa, Maine, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, airing in the major markets of each state. Trump’s national policy director, Stephen Miller, said mothers across the U.S. have lost children because the Obama administration “prioritizes special interests over the lives of Americans,” and Clinton has “pledged to go even further.”
“She supports Sanctuary Cities, amnesty in 100 days, and totally ‘open borders,'” he said. “The ICE officers said the Clinton plan is ‘the most radical immigration proposal in U.S. history.’ A vote for Clinton is a vote to have thousands more American moms suffer the same fate as Laura.”
