Stephen Hawking, Elon Musk: Earth’s Clock Is Running Out and a Doomsday Event Is Coming
Renowned physicist Stephen Hawking is urging space exploration to save humanity, as the earth is close to expiration.
“Earth is under threat from so many areas that it is difficult for me to be positive,” Hawking says in a recent speech. “We are running out of space, and the only place we can go to are other worlds. It is time to explore other solar systems. Spreading out may be the only thing that saves us from ourselves. I am convinced that humans need to leave Earth.”
This isn’t the first time the physicist has made such claims.
In Expedition New Earth, a BBC documentary, Hawking explores what he believes is necessary to preserve humanity.
“Professor Stephen Hawking thinks the human species will have to populate a new planet within 100 years if it is to survive,” the BBC said. “With climate change, overdue asteroid strikes, epidemics and population growth, our own planet is increasingly precarious.”
BBC continues: “The journey shows that Prof. Hawking’s ambition isn’t as fantastical as it sounds—that science fact is closer to science fiction than we ever thought.”
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has reportedly jumped to a similar conclusion. He, too, is ready to send people to Mars to protect the species.
“I don’t have a doomsday prophecy,” Musk says, “But history suggests some doomsday event will happen.”
While many people have predicted end-times scenarios, Paul wrote told the Thessalonians:
“Concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that I write to you. For you know perfectly that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. When they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor upon a woman with child, and they shall not escape (1 Thess. 5:1-3). {eoa}
