Why You May Want to Cut Your Netflix Account Right Now

The American Family Association (AFA, afa.net) is encouraging its more than 1 million friends and supporters to contact Attorney General Jeff Sessions, urging him to immediately open an investigation of the streaming service Netflix for the distribution of child pornography in violation of federal law.

The film in question is an Argentinian movie called Desire that portrays inappropriate scenes with a 9 and 7-year-old.

The Department of Justice guidelines on child pornography states “…the age of consent for sexual activity in a given state is irrelevant; any depiction of a minor under 18 years of age engaging in sexually explicit conduct is illegal.”

“At the minimum, this disturbing film stream on Netflix clearly and inappropriately sexualized a child, and unfortunately, this is a trend for Netflix, which seems to increasingly embrace objectifying and degrading depictions of sex and sexual assault,” said AFA President Tim Wildmon.

View AFA’s Action Alert here, which details how concerned citizens can directly contact Sessions.

Along with a dozen other family organizations, AFA has also called on Netflix to stop airing the teen drama 13 Reasons Why, which glorifies suicide and contains extremely graphic content geared toward young viewers. Read more here.
