How Some Charismatic Churches Have Misused and Abused Speaking in Tongues

Share:

John Mark Comer, pastor of Bridgetown Church in Portland, Oregon, says three major errors have sprung up in the modern church about speaking in tongues. The first is that unless you speak in tongues, you are not filled with the Spirit. The second is that unless you speak in tongues, you are not even saved. And the third is that speaking in tongues is not important or possible for believers today. Comer says all three of these are biblically inaccurate. His comments came during a guest sermon at Garden Church in Long Beach, California. So how should the gift of tongues be practiced in both the church and private life? Comer teaches exegetically out of 1 Corinthians 14 in this video message.
