These Perverse Spirits Might Be Why You Can’t Get Free From Lust

Shame can prevent our freedom. The shame of lust, pornography and masturbation keeps us in bondage paralyzed to our sin. People seldom want to confess their sins or seek out assistance to get free from these unclean sins. In this article, receive deliverance from these perverse spirits and learn how to set others free.

Perverse sins are not just a man’s disease. Women are also caught in these shameful acts. I say shame because shame is one of the strongmen behind sexual sin. Shame traps us in the sin because we don’t want to talk about the sin for fear of being rejected, condemned and judged. When we allow shame to trap us is when the devil gains a foothold, and these acts become more severe.

Three of the emotional strongholds preventing deliverance from perversion are self-condemnation, shame and pride.

  • Pride prevents our deliverance because pride keeps us in bondage by blinding us and lying to us that we don’t have a problem or can control our addiction. Pride prevents us from reaching out to a leader, our spouse or accountability partner that we even have a problem.
  • Self-condemnation leaves us beating ourselves up about our sin, thinking we are no-good and unworthy. It leaves us in a victim mentality which is an emotional root hurt we need to seek the Holy Spirit to expose and remove.
  • Shame leaves us feeling dirty, filthy, unclean and unwanted. It keeps up in an emotional cycle of self-punishment.

The Driving Force Behind Perverse Spirits

Behind the spirit of shame is a seducing spirit. Don’t think of a seducing spirit as a perverse spirit. It is a drawing and alluring spirit. It pulls you in a negative direction. The power and force behind these spirits are strong. It is hard to resist. One of the reasons people don’t get set free from the perverse spirits is because they are casting out specific spirits such as pornography, lust or masturbation, and not calling out the driving force behind those spirits such as seducing, alluring and mind-binding. Mind-binding and seducing spirits bind your mind to think about the very thing you want to resist. When seducing and mind-binding spirits are active, the person can try and resist them, but this is difficult because the pull is very strong. However, once the strongmen behind the driving force are identified, freedom can manifest.

Separate the Principality from the Person

Recognize you are in a spiritual war and fighting a spiritual battle. The Bible says, “For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Eph. 6:12). Separate the person, you, whom you love, from the evil force operating through you. Focus on loving you the person, removing shame, self-condemnation and the victim mentality. Your fight isn’t against yourself and the sin that ensnares you. It is against the evil force drawing you into that sin.

Separating who and what you are fighting is your first step to freedom. You are fighting a spirit, but now you have to do your part in the natural to resist that spirit. You also came into agreement with that spirit by turning on the internet and watching pornography, not seeking out your healing, allowing pride to rise up and participating in acts of masturbation. You need to change your habits, behaviors and thoughts and do your part to resist temptation and not give these perverse spirits a legal right to occupy, attack and distract.

Inner Healing and Deliverance

In the process of deliverance, inner healing is also necessary. Perverse spirits usually manifest from a root cause in our life that needs to be discovered and brought forth into the light and love of God so we can receive healing. We can’t do inner healing without deliverance and vice versa. They need to manifest together for people to receive complete freedom.

Entry Points for Perverse Demonic Spirits

  1. Experimentation with a childhood friend.
  2. Molestation.
  3. Homosexual acts.
  4. Childhood trauma.
  5. Masonry.
  6. Rape.
  7. Sexual abuse and defilement.
  8. Incest.
  9. Satanic Ritual Abuse.
  10. Witchcraft.
  11. Soul Ties.
  12. Generational Curses.
  13. Adultery.

Discover the Entry Point

Close the doors to demonic strongholds by discovering what your entry point is.

  • Did you as a child stumble upon daddy’s pornographic magazines and start looking at them?
  • Did a brother or grandfather touch you inappropriately and those acts of defilement led you into masturbation?
  • Were you raised in a crack house where you watched sexual activity taking place?
  • Did someone force you to touch them?
  • Do you remember a time you were uncomfortable with being with a relative or friend, questioned their touches or blocked the memory of an unpleasant situation?

Seek the Holy Spirit in your prayer time and ask Him to reveal what your entry point is and what you need to do to close that door. Ask Him to bring healing into your life and remove the trauma of the sexual experience from your mind.

Steps of Freedom

Forgive: If you were abused or you discover the root of your problem was identified from a childhood trauma, choose to forgive your offender.

Repent: Renounce and repent of any sexual sins you committed. Ask Jesus to forgive you. Forgive yourself.

Break agreement: Confess and proclaim out loud, “I break agreement with pornography, masturbation and perverse spirits. I repent and renounce my participation and actions. I declare these spirits no longer have a stronghold over my life. I bind and restrict you from any future spiritual attacks.”

Cast out the demons: Jesus cast demons out, and He spoke out loud to do it. (See my book, Discerning and Destroying the Works of Satan, for the model of biblical deliverance and Speak Out, for taking your authority and how Jesus spoke out audibly to the spiritual atmosphere to see natural manifestations.) Cast out the spirits that have been plaguing you. Here is a list of demons that could be associated. Either cast them all out or pray and ask the Holy Spirit to show you which ones are present. Cast them out by speaking out loud, “Spirit of ________ (insert spirit name), I cast you out in the name of Jesus.” Repeat it for each spirit present. It is best not to group them but cast them out individually if this has been a strongman in your life. Cast them out until you feel a release or have peace.

Spirit Listing: lust, perversion, masturbation, pornography, mind-binding, torment, trauma, seducing, alluring, shame, pride, self-condemnation, witchcraft, satanic ritual abuse, Masonic, unworthiness, defeat, lying, addiction, unclean, woundedness.

If you are being tormented in the nighttime hours while you sleep, cast out one of the following spirits:

Incubus: a male demon believed to have sexual intercourse with sleeping women.

Succubus: a female demon believed to have sexual intercourse with sleeping men.

When you finish casting out spirits, make sure to ask the Holy Spirit to come and fill you. Charisma Media’s “Life in the Spirit” series booklets can assist you in filling yourself with the Holy Spirit and developing a strong relationship with the Holy Spirit to help prevent further temptation.

Renew your mind: Take every thought captive. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Cor. 10:4-5).

As lying spirits come and try to attack you and tempt you into sexual sin, take the thought captive and dismiss it instead of entertaining it. Get up, get busy, get into your Word, prayer or worship and fight the temptation. Renew your mind with the Word of God and the will of God. God told me once when struggling with fear, “Kathy, if your mind is so full of the Word of God, there will be no room for fear.” I’m sure it will be the same for you. If your mind is so full of the word of God, there will be no room for seducing and mind-binding spirits.
