We have just completed the Empowered21 Latin American Congress in Bogota, Colombia, which followed our 2019 Global Council meeting. I want to tell you all about it.

It was amazing!

The Congress was exceptional with over 15,000 in attendance throughout the week and 41 participating nations. More than 28,000 unique viewers watched the live stream and thousands more tuned in each evening across Latin America on Enlace television. This was the most- attended regional congress yet!

The Congress was a great blend of the key values of Empowered21—featuring new generations, the work of the Holy Spirit, a focus on world evangelism and a visible demonstration of unity for all of Latin America to witness.

We are thankful for the leadership of the Latin American Co-chairs Omar Cabrera, Cash Luna, and especially Juanita Cercone for her work facilitating the programming and broadcast coverage of the event. The sessions were diverse, relevant and anointed.

Special appreciation and eternal gratitude is due Cesar Castellanos for hosting the gathering on such short notice. The MCI/G-12 team served at the highest level of excellence. Thank you, Pastor Cesar!

The Global Council, Scholars Consultation and Global Evangelist Alliance all convened in Bogota prior to the Congress. It was a wonderful time of fellowship, with strategic decisions being made for the future of Empowered21. The Scholars Consultation engaged around the subject of poverty and the Spirit-empowered movement with excellent presentations.

The E21 Global Evangelist Alliance (GEA) gathered more than 30 evangelists from around the world, representing some of the most prominent and impactful ministries of our time. The energy and focus of this group toward the E21 2033 vision added a significant dimension to the meetings. Powerful!

The Global Council and the Global Evangelist Alliance have agreed to shift the future Empowered21 schedule beyond Jerusalem 2020 to convene a GEA gathering in 2023, followed by Global Congress gatherings in 2028 and 2033.

I’m also excited to announce that the Global Council unanimously agreed to change the 2020 Global Council meeting from Jordan to Jerusalem.

Momentum and excitement are building for Jerusalem, and I’d love for you to join us.

The Jerusalem 2020 Global Congress has the potential to be one of the most noteworthy and important meetings for the Spirit-empowered movement in this century. The Congress is being dedicated to focusing the Spirit-empowered movement on the unfinished task of reaching every person on planet earth for Christ by 2033.

Right now, we plan to gather on the southern steps of the Temple Mount the evening of Pentecost Sunday, May 31, 2020. This will place us at the spot where most believe Peter preached his sermon on the Day of Pentecost and witnessed the first great harvest in church history.

We will unite in prayer for a new Pentecost that will propel us into the greatest harvest in human history. God is going to meet with us!

Billy Wilson is the global co-chair of Empowered21.
