Jonathan Cahn Highlights 3 Major Mysteries That Ushered in Current Prophetic Events
In his latest and wildly popular book, The Oracle: The Jubilean Mysteries Unveiled, an instant New York Times’ bestseller, Jonathan Cahn draws from current events, history and the Old Testament to draw out modern-day prophecies about the nation of Israel.
In fact, he says, three particular events in Israel’s past not only changed Judeo-Christian history but also revealed how God intends to restore Israel.
Also in The Oracle, Cahn reveals the “mystery of the ages”—and even of Donald Trump, the White House and more. Cahn also opens up ancient mysteries that lie behind the current events and leaders of today’s times. Throughout the book, the reader is taken on a journey of angels and prophetic revelations waiting to be discovered behind each of the seven doors—the ancient secrets that lie behind the world-changing events of contemporary times—and events that are yet to come.
Discovery No. 1: The Book of Ezekiel at Masada
Masada was a mountain fortress in Israel. It’s also where, in the year AD 70, refugees, soldiers and Jewish revolutionaries fled to as the Roman army lay siege on their nation.
When the Roman army came to attack Masada, the Jewish people made a tragic decision. Rather than be taken captive, they decided to take their own lives and die as free men. When the Roman soldiers reached the top of the fortress, they found their opponents dead.
Masada became a symbol of Israel’s last stand. It became a symbol of the human struggle between oppression and liberty.
But in the mid-1960s, Israeli archaeologist Yigael Yadin led a team to Masada to dig up the graves hidden in the sands. What they found was an ancient prophecy from the Book of Ezekiel, which said: “O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves and bring you into the land of Israel” (Ezek. 37:12).
“When the Jewish people were led captive into the nations, when it looked as if they would be wiped off the face of the earth, when there was no hope, God had embedded His promise into the sands of their ancient grave,” Cahn says.
Hidden in the nation’s grave was the prophecy of its resurrection—of its dry bones being breathed back to life.
Discovery No. 2: The Dead Sea Scrolls
In 1947, a Bedouin shepherd stumbled into a cave and discovered a set of ancient scrolls. They were, by far, the oldest manuscripts of the Bible ever uncovered up to that day, and proved the accuracy and historical significance of the Bible.
Central in that discovery was the scroll of Isaiah, discovered in its entirety.
“It was that scroll,” says Cahn in The Oracle, “that contained some of the most powerful words of comfort ever given to Israel and some of the most beautiful prophecies of its future restoration. Several of these would come true in the 20th century with the gathering of the Jewish people back to the land.”
On Nov. 29, 1947, the scrolls were unrolled and read by Eliezer Sukenik, a professor of biblical archaeology in Jerusalem. As he deciphered the ancient words, reports came over his radio of an event taking place across the world. Nov. 29, 1947, was the very night that Israel was voted into existence at the United Nations.
It was a modern manifestation of an ancient mystery—when God is about to act, He always first brings forth His Word. So He brought His Word—and then His ancient nation.
Discovery No. 3: The Lost City
Expounding upon historical events in The Oracle, Cahn reveals how a British archaeologist unveiled a site that for generations had been lost.
Gen. Sir Charles Warren was one of the earliest European archaeologists of the Holy Land. In the 1860s, he and his team uncovered an ancient city hidden in the dust for 2,000 years.
For ages, everyone thought the biblical city of Jerusalem was inside the walls we see today. But the truth is, only some of it was. What Warren found was the buried city of Jerusalem, the core city of David, Solomon, Isaiah and Jeremiah.
Warren’s discovery meant the restoring of the original connection. It foreshadowed the city’s restoration, that it would soon again become a living city filled with the children of Israel.
It all took place in the year 1867, a year that marked the beginning of mysterious events in the land of Israel, the preparation for the return of the Jewish people to their ancient homeland and the resurrection of the nation of Israel. It was that year that determined everything that followed.
Cahn reveals how the 50-year cycle of the ancient Jubilee lies behind modern events and end-times prophecy. If one counts 50 years from 1867, it leads to the year 1917—the very year that the land was liberated from the Ottoman Empire and promised to the Jewish people. If one counts 100 years, or two Jubilees, from 1867, it leads to the year 1967—the year of the Six-Day War and the restoration of the Jewish people to their ancient city, Jerusalem. And if one counts 150 years, or three Jubilees, from that seminal year, it leads to 2017—the very year that for the first time in 2,000 years, the legal right of the Jewish people to Jerusalem was restored when President Trump issued the Jerusalem Declaration. {eoa}
