Number of Pro-Life Women Serving in Congress Doubles
A record number of pro-life women will now be serving in Congress, including 13 new Republicans, seven of whom have replaced pro-abortion Democrat-held seats. These election victories mean the number of pro-life women in the House will double.
All 11 pro-life women incumbents won reelection, while at least 13 new pro-life women will join the House in January. Maria Salazar, Fla.; Yvette Herrell, N.M.; Michelle Fischbach, Minn.; Nancy Mace, S.C.; Stephanie Brice, Okla.; Ashley Hinson, Iowa; and Nicole Malliotakis, N.Y.; flipped Democrat-held seats. Six other pro-life women will replace pro-life men in the House: Lauren Boebert, Colo.; Lisa McClain, Mich.; Kat Cammack, Fla.; Diana Harshbarger, Tenn.; Mary Miller, Ill. and Marjorie Taylor Greene, Ga.
At least six pro-life women will also serve in the U.S. Senate in January. They are Sens. Joni Ernst, Iowa; Cindy Hyde-Smith, Miss.; Shelley Moore Capito, W.Va.; Cynthia Lummis, Wyo.; Marsha Blackburn, Tenn.; and Deb Fischer, Neb.
Eight races featuring pro-life women have not been called.
